Edited and Selected by Lord Birkett, The Folio Society, London, 1993, Hardcover, A two volume set in slipcase. Bound in black quarter cloth with brown decorative paper covered boards. Several full page illustrations to both volumes. Gilt embossed lettering to the spines.

 

The Newgate Calendar was a hugely popular publication of the 18th and 19th centuries. It was originally a monthly bulletin of executions, produced by the keeper of Newgate prison in London.

 

 

Condition; Both volumes are very good there is damage to one corner of the cardboard slip case.
